Veterinary applicants: plan beyond January 2029

RCVS says direct programme accreditation will replace the current EAEVE-based recognition route from January 2029. A new six-year student needs a graduation-year plan.

The RCVS European-registration page states that from January 2029, only qualifications from programmes directly accredited by the RCVS will be accepted through that recognition route. Graduates of non-accredited programmes will need the statutory membership examination.

For a student starting in 2027, a school’s present EAEVE status alone cannot settle the UK registration question. Ask the RCVS about the exact programme, intended graduation date and likely examination route before paying a deposit.
