GDC considers feedback on a new professionalism framework

The proposed principles-based framework received more than 230 consultation responses; proposals should be distinguished from standards already in force.
The GDC’s September Chair’s update says the consultation closed on 31 August. The proposal would replace Standards for the Dental Team with a framework of principles, expectations and supporting guidance.
Students should continue to follow the standards currently applicable to them. The August explanation and September update provide context for the proposed direction, not proof that the replacement framework has taken effect.
