GDC survey: delays and support remain concerns in investigations

Research reports modest improvements in experiences of fitness-to-practise processes, with continuing concerns about time and support.
The GDC’s research draws on surveys of dental professionals and people raising concerns. It reports some improvement since 2023, but continuing dissatisfaction with the process.
For dental students and new registrants, this reinforces the value of understanding professional obligations, maintaining clear records and knowing where support is available. Survey responses describe experience; they do not predict the outcome of an individual case.
