The admission route

School-leaving qualification and science preparation. The standard route includes written and oral Biology, Chemistry and English assessment; Physics may replace Chemistry in specified university-organised sittings. Qualification-based examination exemptions require faculty approval.

The 2027/28 Medicine application page opens on 1 December 2026 and closes on 1 June 2027. A test exemption is separate from admission and document approval. The newer fee page contains an apparent first-semester typographical error; request the written invoice before paying.

Published deadline: 1 Jun 2027

Check the live admission notice, opening date and document cut-off before submitting.

European qualification route

The GMC assesses the exact European award and required accompanying evidence under its country-specific rules. Confirm the diploma, internship and registration requirements for your graduation year. Admission, professional registration, NHS training allocation and permission to work are separate decisions.

Entry level
School-leaver entry
Course and training
6 years; confirm the exact final award and all required practical training with the faculty.
Clinical access

Check the rules for your expected graduation year. Recognition of a qualification, registration, a training place and permission to work are separate decisions.

What to prepare

  • Passport and the application form for your nationality route.
  • Your original school-leaving qualifications, subject grades and transcripts; add degree and prerequisite-course evidence for graduate or college-entry routes. Confirm predicted-grade rules if results are pending.
  • Evidence of English or the university’s written exemption.
  • Any required motivation statement, references, medical form and passport photograph.
  • Certified copies, translations, recognition and apostille only in the format requested by this university.

This is a preparation checklist. The university’s current country-specific list determines which items you must submit.

What the degree could cost

The 2026/27 faculty schedule publishes €15,800 for each of years 1–5 and a €7,900 base for year 6. The final-year base covers half of the practices at university hospitals; additional university-hosted practices are charged proportionately. The 2027/28 page repeats these annual totals but has an inconsistent first-semester figure. Summer-practice charges, living costs and books are additional. Confirm the complete intake-specific contract.
